Procedural Strap Squeezing
WIP stylized villager character made for a scrapped project at Lost Boys Interactive.
The art direction for this project involved chunky forms with a stylized PBR base texture and inking on top (you can see the beginnings of the inking pass on the hair). The style and implementation of the inking into engine along with the geometry and colorization variants posed some interesting pipeline challenges that required research and knowledge sharing with the team.
While creating this character I also developed a tool for procedurally deforming fabrics around things like straps or seams in order to get a believable sculpting base.
